2025 Schoolwide IB Launch
Welcome!
We look forward to supporting each of our Schoolwide IB partner schools, this year. We have 15 new schools who join the community of over 120 schools across the US and Canada, expanding the DP and CP to more students. Please bookmark this blog so you can easily return for updates. This way we can reduce the number of emails we send to schools.
Here are a few important updates to get us started on our shared learning journey…
Attend our Networking Session Next Week!
NEXT WEEK is our first Networking Session, hosted in partnership with the IB Exchange. This session is best suited for pedagogical leaders, including principals, IB coordinators, department chairs, and school district and system level leaders. This first hour long session is titled, “Building Foundations for Community-led Change” REGISTER HERE and access RESOURCES HERE We recommend engaging with some of the resources prior to the event.
Meet your Programme Development Consultant (New Schools)
By the end of this week, you will have been introduced to your Programme Development Consultant. This year, we provide FREE thought partners to each school. We have matched the consultants with schools based on the questionnaire responses and the strengths and experiences of our inspiring lead educators.
Starting strong - please meet with us
Chad and I (Phil) are eager to meet with you to discuss the insights you shared in your questionnaire and to provide some support to help you launch well. We would like to do this in partnership with your IB World Schools Senior Manager and your Programme Development Consultant, where possible. Please access our BOOKING TOOL and select 45 minutes to 1 hour ‘with Phil and Chad’.
Resources for exploring the Language and Literature course
To support schools to continue the learning journey with your teachers, in your school community. We have a three part series developed by Chris Baker-Raivo and Tim Leistikow (Minneapolis Public Schools), Leah Yeats (IB Curriculum Manager) and Richard Hood (IB Educator Network Consultant). Use these resources in any way that you find useful to make connections between the core values of language arts teachers and the IB curriculum, explore the importance of the written curriculum and course planning, through to strategies to engage students in guided analysis of both literary and non-literary texts. The resource is modular so you can break it up and tailor it to the scheduled professional learning / meeting time, in your specific context. Explore the RESOURCES HERE.
Student voices - Learning Without Limits!
Students who inspire students to rise
There is nothing more powerful for a young person than to hear from other students, who they identify with. The IB is seeking schools willing to participate in a 2026 student voices campaign. We have developed a resource toolkit that Lang and Lit teachers can integrate into their coursework this year, to engage students in what it means to be a lifelong learner, exploring social media campaigns and creating one of their own. This flexible content aims to engage students in their Approaches to Learning and to think about why learning how to learn is so important for the rapidly changing digital world.
