Overview
Effective transformation in IB World Schools begins with leadership that models equity, agency and shared purpose. In this session—Leading Transformation in IB World Schools—activate the mindsets and frameworks that empower school leaders to dismantle barriers, cultivate inclusive cultures, and guide their communities through sustainable change. Drawing on the IB’s Excellence & Equity (E2) Framework and liberatory design principles, participants will step into stakeholder roles, collaborate on real‐world case studies, and co‑design a leadership plan tailored to their context
Session Description
We will:
Adopt stakeholder roles
In a mock committee meeting, assume perspectives (e.g., teacher, student, family, administrator) to surface diverse needs and motivationsExplore Equity Leadership Stances
Use the Liberatory Design and Equity Leadership Mindsets to uncover personal biases, build trust, and foster co‑ownership of changeEvaluate current practices
Using the Committee Agenda template, audit existing equity initiatives, pinpoint gaps, and set clear, school‑specific goalsPlan your leadership journey
Leverage sample agendas and time‑management strategies to structure teacher‑focused learning experiences that align with your equity goalsApply one aspect of the IB E2 Framework
Examine the five pillars—philosophy & culture, preparation & outreach, leadership & administration, learning & teaching, and professional development—to identify levers for removing participation barriersArticulate next steps for advancing community learning
